Housing and shelter can be a daunting challenge, but working together, we can find ways to meet this need with resources already available to us.

HomeShare provides an innovative and simple model to help each other -- neighbor to neighbor.

HomeShare began in 2008 and works as a “boarding house broker” with an added emphasis on researching to find a good match. Thanks to the poor economy and job losses, HomeShare is starting to become an option for families that never imagined they would need to rent out part of their house in order to make the mortgage payment and those who need a more affordable place to rent and want a sense of community and have a sense of service.

HomeShare matches those with space available in their homes who need extra income or help around the house with those who work on the island and need an affordable housing opportunity.  HRB provides support by screening applicants and matching them with local residents, thereby taking the burden off the homeowner.

Homefinder offers individuals/families assistance in identifying affordable housing options in Kitsap County other than HRB properties.
