Bainbridge Island is located in Kitsap County, Washington, a few miles west of Seattle in the Puget Sound. Its population is 22k, and most of these residents are recent arrivals. The city was incorporated as the City of Winslow in 1947, and grew from 3,147 to its current number within the last few decades. Many residents work on the Island—there are approximately 1,000 businesses registered with the Chamber—and many commute to jobs in Seattle, which is a 35 minute ferry ride away.
