Rise & Shine Shined!
We raised over $42,000!!

Gratitude and grace were in abundance at the Housing Resources Board Rise & Shine second annual Fundraising Breakfast.  With 250 guests and volunteers, we not only raised funds, but awareness of the need for affordable housing.  It is to the credit of the hard work of so many volunteers and community-minded organizations that HRB raised $42,000!

This year the breakfast featured a Bird House Auction, and there is an entire network of community members to thank for making it a smashing success!  What began as a simple idea of decorating bird houses for centerpieces grew into a wonderful collaboration between HRB, the Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop, 30 generous, talented artists, and others!  The Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop took cedar boards supplied by ProBuild to cut and assemble 30 aromatic bird houses which were then distributed to local artists, thanks to a Call for Artists swiftly disseminated by the Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities Council.

Ferncliff Groundbreaking
It was a beautiful day at the Ferncliff Village Groundbreaking on June 3rd. People featured on the program included Linda Hinman, Administrator of the Boys and Girls Club and future Ferncliff Village Homeowner; Kevin Dwyer, Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce; Hilary Franz, Bainbridge Island Council Member; Lois Curtis, Ferncliff Village Land Donor, and Ann Wilkinson-Ellis, HRB Board Member. Thanks to Robert Dashiell for the photograph!
